Had a few beers last night with a coworker. Lisa always gets mad at me when I'm telling her a story about how I felt in a certain circumstance and I get too excited and start yelling. I'm not yelling at Lisa, I'm just yelling at the person I'm telling the story about. Well, she gets mad because it looks as though I'm yelling at her and it embarrasses her. Last night, my coworker was doing the same thing and I was getting embarrassed.

I got some bug killer for the lawn last night. I've never put anything like that on a lawn before. That may be the secret to a good lawn. Most people probably don't think that putting something like that on a lawn will help it all that much, but everything I've read about taking care of your lawn says to regularly (twice a summer) put something on your lawn that kills ants, grubs, insects, etc. because they use up the resources in the soil the same way weeds do. I can't wait to put it on tonight and see next week if I can tell a difference.

I'm drinking Kenyan coffee this morning....tastes pretty good.

Yesterday we went garage sale'ing again and I bought a nice fertilizer spreader for 15$. We then went and grabbed some lunch at Wendy's and ran some errands. One of the places we went to was Big Lots. Lisa bought a storage container and I bought 2 sprinklers. We then went and bought some more flowers and came back to denton to plant them. I mowed the lawn and washed my car. By that time, Julie and a guy she's dating came over and we went to Riprock's and had some drinks and then came back here and had more drinks.

Julie's date was nice, but I got a strange vibe from him. He's hiding something...

I got a change to talk to the new girl at work. It's such a small world. She lives down the street from my mom and she used to live in the same apartment complex in Denton at the same time as Lisa did when she lived with Amanda. She seems nice, but I can tell she's still playing it safe, which is annoying.

Lisa's parents came over on tonight and we cooked them dinner. We had cajun chicken pasta with wine and garlic toast. Later I made margarita's.

I don't care what mood you're in, listening to Cake puts you in a good mood.

I don't know what my problem is. I get SOOOOO tired at night. I came home from work about 7:00, Lisa and I talked a bit, she made dinner, I made margarita's, we ate, then by 9:15 I was falling asleep on the chair. 9:15!! That's just really sad. Even worse, I get cranky when I'm tried and even more cranky when I realize that I'm tired at 9:15. It's got to be all in my head, because I can get 4 hours of sleep the night before, and sit in front of a computer working on something until 3:00am the next morning, moving nothing but a few fingers on the keyboard. I think maybe it has to do with mental stimulation. If I'm not stimulated, I shutdown and I'm useless.

I'll try that, next time I start to get tired, I'll try and find something to do that will keep my brain moving.

Wow! C# has a built in Mutex operation:

This:

try
{
Mutex.Lock()
...
}
finally
{
Mutex.Unlock()
}

is equivalent to:

lock
{
....
}

That's neat stuff.

Just had lunch with Austin, my boss. He took me to lunch for my 1 year anniversary at the company. Never had chips and dip at a Chinese cafe before, but it was good. I had hot and sour soup, an egg roll, and some sweet and sour chicken. mmmmm...

Last night Lisa and I went to Kroger to get some groceries and before we left, we got some of the CD's we used to listen to in high school. Cake, Smashing Pumpkins to name a few. I usually don't like listening to music with singing, but these CD's really bring back alot of memories, both good and bad. After we got back from the store, it was about 10:30 so I mixed some Jim Bean and some coke and watch Cops for an hour before bed. I really like that show.

Well, I worked late yesterday and went home about 7:00. Lisa and I tried to watch A Wrinkle in Time but got bored kinda quick. We ate some dinner and she read her book for school and I worked some more on my laptop. I decided that there was a flaw in my state machine, so I redesigned it and everything works perfectly!! This morning I'm going to add data encryption and MD5 checksum abilities to the server.

Mother's day was OKAY. We went to my aunt and uncles house and had lunch, then about 4:00 headed over to Lisa's parents house in Keller. Just about that time I got a headache that turned into something nasty. I ended up going to bed at 7:00. Of course I couldn't sleep, it hurt too much. I took some medicine, but that didn't do anything, except leave the worst taste in my mouth after throwing it back up I've ever had. I stayed in bed, getting up to puke every now and then, finally, Lisa looked up a remedy on the internet that seem to work. She got a wash rag and soaked it with hot water and laid it on my head. She did this about 3 times and it went away just long enough for me to fall asleep. Lisa is the best at taking care of people, I'm so lucky I have her. I woke up about 10:30pm and we went home. Becky drove my car and I rode with Lisa in Sean's truck. What a day.

This morning, I fertilized the lawn. What a perfect morning to do it. It's best to do it when there's dew on the grass because the weed killer and grass fertilizer will stick to the weeds and grass. Then the sun came out and dried up the dew so now my fertilizer is like a paste on the grass.

I came in and hooked up the VCR in our bedroom for Lisa so she could work out, and I came and sat on the couch in the living and had a bowl of cornflakes and updated my livejournal.

We're going to my aunt and uncles house in Fort Worth, and then later in the afternoon we're going to head for Keller to spend the evening with Lisa's family.

Somewhere in here I'm going to have to get some work done. Just know sure where yet.

We got up on Saturday morning at 7:00am to meet Lisa's parents in Keller to go garage sale'ing. Before stopping at our first garage, Mark stopped at QT and we got some coffee and a Kripsy Creme doughnut.  I don't really care for going to garage sales, it's just being with family that makes it fun. We stopped at a few garage sales, but ended up house hunting.  We went to all kinds of nice neighborhoods and looked at houses and walked through a few open houses.  I got a lot of idea's about what I want in a house that I build"

  • I want a big kitchen.  I like cooking and seeing a big kitchen makes me happy.  In one of the houses, it had a big kitchen, but the space between the counters and the island in the middle was very small.  Just enough room to open the dish washer.  This is not what I want, I want a big kitchen with lots of space between the counters and the island.
  • I want the space in the house to be porportioned so that the bedrooms are small and the living area's are big.  Maybe the master bedroom can be big, but for sure I want the bedrooms to be small.  I want this because I think raising a family in a house like that will emphasize family rather than individuals.  I'd rather see my kids playing together or being together in the house rather than locked up in their room.
  • I want a large covered back porch with a entrance from the master bedroom.  I like having the deck we currently  have, but in Texas, it's too hot to sit at the outside table if it's not in the shade. When I say large, I mean something like the size of a living room.
  • I also want dark ceramic tiles for the walls of the shower.  It looks really nice.
  • Oh yeah, and I want it all on a two acre lot.
About noon, we got hungry and I bought everyone lunch at Chick-fil-a.  We brought it back to the house and they forgot my sandwich. I called the number on the reciept and told them that I want a refund for the 2.50 donation I just gave them.  They can't do it, they said I'll just have to let them know next time I'm thru and they'll give me a free sandwich, works for me.

On the way home to denton, we stopped at Home Depot to buy some flowers and some fertilizer.  The flowers there really sucked a big one so we just got the fertilizer. We then went to the Home Depot in Denton and the story was pretty much the same, crappy flowers. There was a nursary on 377 between our house and the denton Home Depot, so we stopped there on the way back from the denton Home Depot and found their flowers to be very colorful and big.  We spent a long time trying to figure out what to buy and where we were going to but them, but we finally decided and bought them.  Spending all of this time outside made us thirsty so we went to Sonic before heading home where I got a large strawberry limade and Lisa got a large diet limade. Finally we headed home.

When we got home I mowed and edged the lawn while Lisa trimmed the rose bushes in the backyard. By this time it got really dark and cloudly and it rained just a little bit.  Just as it finished raining, we planted our flowers in the front and washed off the front porch.  Planting flowers is actually quite relaxing and I enjoyed it alot.

After planting the flowers, Lisa came with me to work so I could get some software to install on my laptop so I could work one some stuff on Sunday.  I planned on doing some work on Saturday, but the day filled up too quick.  After we got home, I put some pizza in the oven and we ate that and watched The Missing.

The Missing....just one word about this movie...Why? Why does this movie exist?  It wasn't funny, it wasn't scary, it wasn't though provoking, it wasn't interesting, it was however, like a rice cake.  We both dozed off and on through this movie.  I don't ever want to see it again.

Finally, we went to bed.

Friday night Lisa and I ended up going to Julies, but first I dropped off the flowers for mom at my mom's house.  She wasn't there which was good because I wanted her to come in an see her surpirse.  We left the light on in the room where we set the flowers and my mom said the day after that when she came home she was really freaked out.  She said that she new she didn't turn that light on and so someone must have been there (me!).  She was so freaked out she didn't notice the flowers until a few minutes later and was surprised.  I got some really pretty flowers from Hawaii.  I'm so sick of spending my money on flowers here that die a few days after. These flowers from Hawaii will last weeks.

I had a great time at Julie's.  We drank alot of wine and then went to Texas Roadhouse and ate. I ate WAY too much.  One thing that is strange that I've noticed about myself is that I normally don't like trying new things.  I've always just been happy with what I  know is good.  For example, Lisa and I hardly ever try new resturaunts because I like to eat the places where I  know the food is good.  Daniel and I went to the liqour store to get some wine to drink at Julie's and for some reason with wine, I'm the opposite. Daniel kept trying to get wine that he knew was good wine and couldn't understand why I kept wanting to get wine I'd never had before.  I can't explain it, but with wine, I want to just keep trying new kinds.
